Never Too Old

These kids are all getting older and it is definitely different in the house with all teenagers, Although they are never too old to act like kids. Tonight Kaitlyn had a friend over and they attempted to sleep outside. They put up blankets all around the trampoline and were going to watch a movie. The weather had a different idea and brought the wind in. The blankets were flying away and as they tried to keep them down they came back inside within an hour.

Brayden then wanted to make a fort in the kitchen. So we grabbed a bunch of blankets and created a small fort.

Xander decided to join in. They created a fort in the entire dining room and added the lights that the girls had up. They didn't like that I was taking pictures but hey they have got to know that Mom will take pictures of their creation. They did end up sleeping in there.

This did keep their mind of of things...we found out this afternoon that Jichan passed away. It was hard to hear that but we are so grateful for all our memories with him. He was a great example to our family. He always loved these kids and showed that love with the best hugs. He treated these kids like his own and we will be forever happy for our time together. Having amazing friends that feel more like family make for the best relationships. Building relationships is the best thing we get to take with us when we depart this life. We love Jichan and are happy that you are no longer suffering with pain!!

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
