Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could. We got back to the school and waited almost another hour. By this time the kids were bored. We got the paperwork filled out and then they said to make sure and come back on August 11th to do the actual registration. This is just to get her name on the list but doesn't guarantee her a spot at their school until we come back to verify at the end of the summer. All Mom could think was, "Are you kidding me?" If Kaitlyn doesn't get in then we will have two kids at two different schools or have to change Staci to another school to keep them together. What a nightmare AGAIN!!!!! Kaitlyn couldn't have been more excited though, she CAN'T wait to start at her new school.

In the afternoon we took our computer and printer in to get fixed when Dad called and said he was off early today. He knew he had to be home by 6:00 but he got off a few hours earlier than that. We were all happy. But Dad had a long day and totally fell asleep playing with the kids on the front room floor. Brayden was crawling on him and he was out like a light.

Then we woke him up to get ready for his date with Staci while Mom made a fun dinner for the other kids. We had octopus soup (hotdogs on green ramen noodles & pees for the rocks)

Staci & Dad left for their Daddy Daughter Date. It was an activity for the activity girls at church with the stake. They had so much fun and many of Staci's friends were there with their Dad's as well. They had hawaiian pizza for dinner which all the girls loved (Dad had to eat again when he got home), learning to hula dance, got pictures taken with a beach scene, and made flower lays.

They got home and the other kids were in bed but they did their little hula dance for Mom. Staci was so excited she didn't want to go to bed. Mom can't wait to see the photos.

Mom & Dad even were in bed by 9:00 pm which is so early. Then at 1:30 am we were woken up by Cooper crying. He had dug his dog stake out of the ground, had his bark collar on and was running around the yard in panic. It sounded like he was being tortured. He was all hyped up and barking like crazy while being shocked all at the same time. Dad tried to help but he would hold still at first for Dad to get the cord off his collar so he wouldn't drag the end around the house and brake things. He came inside and went straight into his kennel. Then Mom & Dad couldn't go back to sleep. We kept thinking, "What a stupid dog!"
