Nice Day

Today started out like any other day with school, work and cleaning around the house. But when we left to go to Xander's t-ball practice it was so nice outside. The weather was so great and we didn't even need to wear the jackets we brought with us. We just can't wait for summer to roll around here at our house.

Xander's practice went well and he hit the ball again. But just when Mom starts to think he has the hang of it, he is in the outfield with his mitt over his face. The sun was in his eyes but he was still day dreaming out there. He did get sad at one point because they have one little boy on their team who actually runs. When the ball is hit he runs towards it no matter who is in his way and so he got the ball more than once before Xander could get a chance. He is enjoying this sport though. He smiles so much more than when he played soccer with less crying. So that is a good sign.

We left straight from there and ran over to the church. The young womens are making pajama bottoms for girls camp. Just as Mom was trying to help a girl cut out her patter Dad showed up. Mom was happy because sewing with four little ones around is easier said than done.

So Dad came home, got showers done, scriptures, stories & the kids were in bed on time. While Mom stayed at the church until almost 9:00 helping these girls with their sewing. It was a fun activity and for the most part the girls got done what they needed to. Mom did have to bring some of the pajamas home to finish for girls that don't make it to young womens right now.

Mom has a funny story though. Well on Monday Dad was teaching a self defense class at one of the high schools. One of the girls in our ward goes to that school and at young womens was asking if he has been to her school. She told him that he was there this week. She asked if he taught a self defense class. When Mom replied yes she just started laughing. Well, during the class he was teaching these kids how to defend themselves and hold a stance so you are stable & strong. He asked one of the girls to kick him. She gave him a little pat. He kind of laughed and said, "Come on, kick me." So she gave it her all and kicked him just below the knee in the shin. Dad didn't move and looked at her saying, "Wow you kicked me really hard." She was about to cry and asked if she could go sit down. For the rest of the class she had ice on it. Well the young women in our ward knows her and said that she may have even broke her foot. Sad to say, that when Mom came home and told Dad he couldn't believe it. But he did hear a snap when she kicked him and he knows just how hard she kicked him. He is supposed to go back tomorrow and now he is a little nervous about teaching another class. Hopefully there is no law suits involved. But how can Dad get blamed for her kicking him so hard. (Only time will tell)

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
