Field Trip

This morning we realized we forgot to call Uncle Tom so during breakfast we called him and the kids wished him a Happy Birthday but singing to him. He loved it but was laughing because when they got to Happy Birthday dear______. They paused and looked at each other and two sang Uncle Tom while the other two sang Tom. But it sounded like they were mumbling a little. It was cute!

Today was Staci's field trip. Mom joined her with her class as we went over to Ross Park. We enjoyed rock climbing, learning to play disc golf and a nature walk. It was kind of a cold day but warmed up at times. The wind was not on our side when during the BBQ lunch Staci's plate went flying off the table and she had to get all new food. Whoops! Mom trying catching it but was not successful. We both did the rock climbing and learned that we are not good at the disc golf. So maybe we will have to take the whole family to play one day.

Dad stayed home with the boys and took them shooting before it was time to pick up Kaitlyn from school. They took an old TV and Xander was so excited that he hit the screen from about 80 yards away. Then as Dad got all sighted in he hit a great shot. The adapter with the red, yellow & while plugs was where he hit; right on the red hole. It even surprised the other Marine who went with them. Brayden even got to pull the trigger on the twenty-two. As Dad held the gun Brayden wrapped his arm around and went for it. They were both excited to tell Mom when she got home.

Staci then after school invited a few friends, Caylyn & Hannah over to work on their dance they are doing for the talent show in a few weeks. They are dancing to Round & Round by Selene Gomez and it was cracking Mom up to watch these three girls creating their masterpiece.

Kaitlyn traded spots with Staci's friend Caylyn and went over to Ashley's house. They are a new family that just moved here from California and it has been nice getting to know them today; even with Mom & their Mom Stacy talking at the field trip today.

Then Dad took off for the night. He was earning some extra money doing security at a Cinco de Mayo concert at a Restaurant & Bar. They asked the marines and a few other military to help out. Dad thought it would be an easy & fun night to earn a little extra money.

Mom ordered a pizza and the kids played on the XBOX. But after dinner got things cleaned up so we could watch a movie. We started Rango on Netflix but after the first rive minutes Mom changed to another movie. She couldn't believe the content in just that amount of time and realized this was not a movie for children. So we watched a movie about a Mouse that falls in love with a princess instead. The kids enjoyed it and it had a Mouseworld & Ratworld in the movie. Kaitlyn fell asleep pretty quickly though.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
