Fresh Start

This year we all slept in except for Brayden. He was up bright and early at 7:00 am. Once everyone was awake the kids played with their cousins before they left to go home. Then we quickly cleaned up Grandma & Grandpa's house from our fun cousin party last night. Then once everyone had something to eat we headed home. The drive seemed to go by so fast...at least the fastest part of our traveling so far with this winter break. As I was packing the car I just kept stuffing things all over in the car. I don't know how we fit! It was like a houdini car and I kept adding more to it. I took down the dog kennels to save space and broke a piece off from Trigger's kennel. This didn't make me feel too happy having to throw it away.

We got home and even though we loved our vacation it's always nice to be home again. Although the house was a little cold and my bedroom had no power. The bathroom was good but the room had no outlets or lights working. Guess I was going to sleep on the couch until I could get it fixed. We stayed in and lounged around. We didn't even unpack the car except for the few things that we needed. By the time we knew it...it was time for dinner and this Mamma didn't want to cook just yet. So we started the year off right with my choice. We went to Cafe Rio. YUM!

Then we played Super Sonic racing....these are some of my favorite games! They are so fun and it's been a few years since I have played any racing games. I may have to watch it since these can be addictive but this may be a way to relieve some of my stress.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
