Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

 

  

The morning started off quiet. Staci was playing the ukulele as her and Uncle Tom worked on her song. Xander was tired and I asked everyone to just let him sleep in. Chip even sat guard to keep him safe. By the time he woke up the kids all said, "We've been swimming for a couple of hours." It was okay because he must have needed the extra sleeping time. It took him a minute to wake up but then he was right back to doing backflips off the diving board. Brayden didn't want to do any back flips today but still ran around with his cousins playing chasing games. Sue and I got in and relaxed floating around today around the kids. They did take some breaks to watch TV at times throughout the day. But for the most part they were outside and the weather was great!!

  

 

It rained a little off and on but then it really started to come down. So we were watching TV inside, Xander is designing a new cage for their lizard. It is amazing that he did it on the iPad. Warren learned almost all the kids names and really seemed to be buddies with Xander. He followed him around and even switched to shorts to match his older cousin. Xander was really great with him and was enjoying his time with him. It was really cute to watch them together!!


Staci has always wanted to do a photo shoot in the rain. So before it got dark it was really coming down hard. She got out he unbrella and got all dressed up cute! Then we took a few shots...

  

 The kids slept over again and this time he was all warmed up to everyone. He was so cute and laid right next to me. He also really likes Kaitlyn as you could probably tell from the pictures, especially in the pool. He followed her around laughing and staying close to her. We took some silly pictures on my phone and he almost was going to sleep with me but went up with his Uncle Pop. That is what Nate was calling Uncle Tom since they call him Pop and my kids call him Uncle Tom. So Uncle Pop became the new name and all the kids were calling him that!! It was pretty funny!!

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use.
