Projects Today

Today of course was filled with more swimming but we did some new things as well. Xander designed a new cage for their lizard and finished the design. Now it was time for Uncle Tom to get the materials ready and start to have Xander build it. They worked off and on all day long. They got quite a bit done today and Xander is so excited to be helping with this. He has a great eye for design and creating things. Brayden even worked on a project of his own and at one point they said only the boys are outside in the wood shop.

Warren and Nate were here most of the day and we spent a lot of time laughing. As getting to know each other will always come some disagreements but those were short lived and there was mostly smiles all around. Brayden did get frustrated a few times. He cut his foot while walking to the store yesterday with Uncle Tom. So they decided to use Uncle Tom's trick of using super glue to heal the wound. When it was super itchy he asked me when this glue was going to fall off. I told him it wasn't going to. He quickly screamed with huge eyes saying, "FOREVER!!". I explained that it will stay on while it is healing. It may work or it may not. But Xander tried the super glue trick on some wart scabs that kept opening up and it seemed to do the trick. The chlorine didn't make it feel good if he was in too long so Brayden sat out and watched TV off and on throughout the day.

Aunt Sue thought of a fun activity for the kids to do. They each built a fairy garden. You can tell by the pictures their personalities, except some of them may have you fooled. Their cousin Connor mixed up a few except for Kaitlyn's. You can tell right off the bat which one is hers. We talked to their Dad on the phone today and over facetime he also mixed up a few. Grandma and Aunt Heather guessed over Facebook and had it correct. Such a cute idea to put different scenes into moss planters. We now have a ton of ideas to spruce up our own fairy garden at home. Aunt Sue is so sweet and told the kids if they can get them home they can have the pieces to build their own at home. Staci is even going to create one for her dorm at college. They really turned out so cute!!

The boys went home and then my kids got back in the pool with their Connor once he got home from work. They played the"Monkey in the Middle" and were being super goofy in the pool. Of course we had to get a picture. They have all grown so much since the last visit and it has been fun to look back at pictures.

Tonight was the night for Uncle Tom to try out his new pizza oven. It cooks super fast and it took a few tries to get it cooked just right without burning it. I was lucky enough to have Tom create my pizza with no cheese this time. He made his homemade pizza sauce that was delicious!! We are being spoiled with his Italian cooking. The kids got to help create their pizzas tonight as we shared that we do silly pizza where the kids make their own creations. The boys thought it was fun to flatten out and throw their dough.

It was stormy again and another movie night was in the works with Kaitlyn trying to get votes. Xander finished up with Uncle Tom late and Aunt Sue went to bed. The rest of us watched "Jack & Jill" and then "The Zookeeper" before zonking out.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
