Snowboarding

Dad left early this morning to go snowboarding for his monthly Marine Corps activity. This was his first go at it. He realized it is so different and hopes to take lessons in the future, maybe with Mom. He did take his skis as well so he took a few runs with the snowboard including a black diamond run and then use his skis the rest of the day. He was gone the entire day and had a great time but is feeling his aching body from falling a few times.
We made omlets for breakfast and then I took the kids to Outer Limits after they got just a few chores done. It was crowded because there was a big birthday party there. But the kids did enjoy themselves. I didn't let them play games this time. They just got to play in the kids playland.
Then we met the Wilson's at Artic Circle for ice cream and more playing in the play area. The kids each got dipped cones except for Brayden. He only had a few bites of his cone because he hates anything cold.
The entire way home the kids complained because they didn't want to go home. We were gone for over 4 hours but that just wasn't enough for these kiddos. They kept whining and saying that they never get to do anything and it is no fun just playing with the family. I tried to remain calm but told them to get used to family because we will be together forever. Then I told them jokingly that we were going to go home and just stare at the wall for the rest of the night. That got their attention and they were good the rest of the evening. I was trying to help them understand just how ridiculous they were being at the time.
For dinner I made waffles with the help of Xander wearing his new apron from Grandma. We also made some brownies. I am just the meaning Mom for not do anything fun with these kids all day. HAHA
Then the kids went to bed on time and I had a surprise for Dad. I had ordered two shakes from Artic Circle earlier and got a movie from the Redbox. So we had a date at home eating ice cream and watching Knight & Day. We both enjoyed the movie and then went to bed.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
