Sand Box

In the morning Dad went into work late so he was able to start on the roof of the fort on the swingset.  Well in the afternoon Dad came home early and was able to finish the roof on the swingset. It is so exciting that the swingset is almost complete all we need now is a rope ladder and a few more finishes to the roof.

At school Staci had a talent show. She played a song on the piano with Mom and danced to an Elvis song with her class of 'You Ain't Nothin' But A Hound Dog'. She was nervous but said that she was more nervous about the dance and not about the piano because she can't see anyone while she plays the piano. She did a great job on her song and actually dedicated it to her Dad.

After school Mom took Staci to the dentist. They were removing four of her teeth but after arriving they decided to split it up and pull only two today and two next week. They are removing her teeth to make room for the adult teeth to come in. She will eventually have to have two adult teeth removed to make room in her mouth & probably braces in the future. She was so embarrassed coming out of the office looking like a walrus and covered her mouth with her hands. She came home and just laid down watching a movie. For dinner she had mashed potatoes and yogurt. By the evening she was feeling better.

That night Dad and Mom worked on the sand box under the fort. We still need 5 or 6 more bags of sand but for now the kids can still play in it, they just can't dig yet. Mom found a bag full of sea shells and sea glass from our Okinawa collection to add for the kids to play with. They just loved that idea!

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
