Busy Bee

Tuesdays happen to be our busiest day but we survived & made it through the day without too much complications or sadness.

Once all the kids were off to school Brayden got to have some time with Mom. We first picked up a birthday present for a party tomorrow and then headed to the library. It was Brayden's first storytime. At first he was looking around and just watching the lady doing the class. But half way through he was following her during the songs & smiling. The lady at the library is so good and all of our kids just love her. We will definitely make this Brayden's special time when Mom is not teaching preschool.

Then Brayden went to a friends house while Mom vounteered in Kaitlyn's kindergarten class. Kaitlyn was so excited when she saw Mom there. Mom is helping out with math rotations once a week for an hour. Today we worked on writing our numbers with rolling some soft dice on white boards.

We almost ran out of gas taking the kids home in our carpool but made it safely to the gas station after picking up Xander from his preschool at Tati's house. Tati's mom Rachelle is going to help out and keep Xander after school while Mom does the carpool on Tuesdays. Thanks Rachelle!

We got home to each lunch and Mom had just enough time to finish cleaning the dishes. She will finish the kitchen later today sometime.

Then we headed to the church for Mom's primary meeting. The older kids played upstairs in the gym while Brayden sat down with Mom during the meeting and played with toys. The meeting went a little longer than usual so Staci ended up being home by herself for a few minutes after school.

Staci got to have a friend over after school who rode the bus home with her. They only got to have their play date for an hour though. We had to get homework done before dinner & heading to soccer practice.

Dad got home just when Mom was making dinner with the DVD from his football camp last month. So while he started that we all watched it off & on until dinner was ready. It was fun watching it and seeing Dad act like a drill instructor.

Kaitlyn's soccer practice went well and she actually did drills this week instead of just doing a scrimmage game the entire time. She is enjoying this new sport and is starting to kick the ball well.

Once we got home it was cranky kids, mostly Staci. She was upset and wanted to finish her piano practicing. But it was time for showers. She was stomping, kicking and throwing stuff around.

Somehow we need to figure out a way to make Tuesdays not so stressful & a little more fun, even though they are going to be go, go, go until soccer is over next month.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
