Do We Really Have a 4th Grader?

At 6:15 am this morning the dogs came running into our room. I was shocked because our alarm wasn't going to wake us up until 7:00. Well I ran out and found the back door wide open and two very eager girls sitting in their room talking about what they were going to wear. They were up so early and so excited! Although Kaitlyn wasn't actually starting school until tomorrow. They kept coming in our room but we told them to go out and get dressed and wait for us in the front room. We wanted just a few more minutes of sleep.

So at 7:00 we got up and I started breakfast. Then after some photos I left to take Staci to school Paul stayed home with the rest of the kids in hope that they would be all ready to go by the time I got home.
At Staci's school she was so happy walking through the halls and saying Hi to all her friends. I did the same thing with a few other Mom's. Staci came in and set her backpack down and met her new teacher and then went out to find her friends before I had a chance to say goodbye. She was being Miss Social Butterfly while I waited in her classroom to wish her luck on her big day.

With Brayden falling asleep early, that just meant that I wasn't able to work on the office like I had planned. I wasn't going to worry about their workbooks today but they insisted on having homework. So I gave them each 3 pages and Xander wouldn't even help make dinner until his pages were finished. They might be just a little strange but we will keep them liking to have homework for now. Maybe I am brainwashing them early but for now it is nice that they enjoy doing it.

While Paul played ball at the church I worked on a few things of my own. Starting with the mess of getting the office organized. Time to throw some things away!!!

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
