Pinewood Derby

This morning starting a long but fun day!! We left the house at 8:45 am and headed to pick up the track for the cubscouts. Once we got it loaded we were at the stake center for Staci's youth basketball. Mom got the time incorrect and so the game didn't actually start until 11:30. By that time we will already need to be at the church to set up for the big event. So we just headed over to our church building early and starting setting up. We got most of it set up before the rest of the scout leaders arrived. We got Wendy's & Burger King to eat at the church for lunch. As people came they helped out in setting things up and getting things ready for the boys. All in all it was a great event! I had fun with the decorations.
Xander didn't have the fastest car (not the slowest either) but he had received the award for the best paint job. He was happy and had a smile on his face most of the day. He left unhappy because he didn't get to play basketball like he wanted (which was to make a basket).

After the clean up and event we headed back to the stake center to return the track. Then we arrived back at home about 4:00 pm. It had already been a long day but I knew we still needed to get a little cleaning in so we played my cleaning game...Five Minutes Around the House. Everyone spent time in their own rooms for about 10 minutes. Then we set a timer and all of us clean each room in the house for 5 minutes each. It doesn't get everything super clean but gets most of it done with dusting and vacuuming. It is amazing how much you can get clean in such a short amount of time when we all put in the work.

It was too late to make the dinner I had planned and I hadn't made it to the grocery store yet, so we had PANCAKES! There was a little too much that happened in one day for Xander to handle and he had a royal tantrum. It was almost the worst we have seen. He was screaming and we didn't want to leave Staci home with him but we needed to get to the store. So we left with him kicking and screaming with a little smirk on Staci's face wondering if she could handle it.

We hurried at the store even though I forgot the list and had to remember my whole list by memory. We tried to call Staci and with no answer I knew she must be dealing with Xander plus getting the other two into bed with stories. When we got home she had calmed down Xander and was asleep in his bed. She had already read to Brayden who was also asleep and Kaitlyn was having her story. She did a great job!!

I found my list and had to run back to the store. We forgot rice krispies and I had promised the kids we could have football shaped rice krispie treats for the Super Bowl.

When I got home I then was able to sit down and do my homework while Staci and I watched the end to the Grease live. Paul went out to work in the garage on the car with replacing the transmission fluid. It was a crazy night and I am tired!!
