School Parties

We had an early start today. We had an appointment with Dr. Lean at the school for Xander but with Dad on duty we all had to go early. Xander loves meeting with him. It is such a great way to start our morning!

We had a good day! The kids each took in their valentine's boxes and had their valentine exchange in their classes. Kaitlyn had a little party, Brayden danced a lot and Xander just had the exchange. It started to have light flurries in the afternoon so we were hoping for it to pick up a little so we could have an early release but that didn't happen. It was a very long week at school for not only the students but seemed extra long for the kids.


I was super excited to hand out my valentines to all my students. I made foam elephants holding balloons that I found from hobby lobby. I felt so loved as my kindergarten friends had so much for me. It covered my desk and Ms. Lynch even got me some cute pink flowers!! I love being a teacher!!!

When we got home we had some friends over, Maggie & Mary. They were having a playdate but staying late for pizza and a movie. They enjoyed their pizza and playing together while we took Xander out on his Birthday Dinner Date with Mom & Dad.



 
He chose Buffalo Wild Wings and ordered mini corndogs. He was excited to play on the ipad while we waited and after the meal. The service wasn't the greatest but the food was good. It was nice to just sit and relax with Xander!


When we got home we let the kids play a little longer before taking them home and then it was time for bed. We will do a family movie night tomorrow.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use.
