Code Blue - SCARY!

Started out great with a laundry day. The kids were great and got their clothes to me and then the night began. Mom was home just playing with the kids when she got a call from the school saying that they were in a code blue and that the school district is on lock down. Mom had a panicked feeling so she rushed over to the school to pick up Staci. They were just informing all the teachers about the lock down and no kids were allowed in the hallway without an escort. Staci was so sad that she was leaving but Mom thought since it was an early day anyways & she didn't know what was going on it would be a good time to get her eyes checked. Mom called Dad to let him know that she had Staci and he said he was stuck. He was at the high school that morning and got locked into the school. He told her that they won't let him leave without a police escort. There was rumors going around the school about a shooting happening today in Pocatello. Now Mom started to freak out and couldn't hold back the tears. She told him to let her know when he was out of the school and safe. Well they couldn't fit Staci in for an appointment because her doctor wasn't in today. Then a half hour later the lock down ended. Staci was all excited that Mom would take her back to school but Mom thought there was no way that was going to happen. Dad left the school and headed back to the office. We found out later that it was some 26 year old guy on facebook who thought it would be funny to have a prank about the shooting. It was very crazy!!! After dinner we headed over to gymnastics and Brayden was doing fine. The girls were so excited to be going back to their classes after a month off. Kaitlyn has a new coach & Staci's coach only has a few weeks left because she is having a baby. So things are changing. But the longer we were there the hotter Brayden was feeling. So Dad came but got their not too long before we were going home. When we got home Mom gave him some tylenol & checked his temperature. He was at 102.4 so she started really worrying. After an hour it had gone up toe 103.6. So she stripped him down and tried to put cool clothes on his head but that didn't last long. He then got lots of energy & then fell asleep. By about 10:00 his temp was down below 100 and he was fast asleep in his bed. It gave Mom quite the scare though.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
