Branch Campout

FRIDAY (4/24/09): Today Dad took Staci on her field trip. He called Mom part way through and asked if it was a joke. He didn't understand that when you are a chaperone you are in charge of other kids. Mom did tell him that but he must have not understood. He had a group of five including Staci. Staci had fun and got to hold a gun. That was her favorite part. Dad showed her how to hold it. Then they had lunch and played at the park.
When they returned home we finished packing for our campout. We ended up leaving a lot later than we had planned and so we decided it would be too late to cook anything. So we stopped at Burger King and ate on our way up to Okuma.
We did use our camp kitchen just for smores and hot chocolate. It was silly to put it up just for that but Jeremiah brought it all the way from the states for us so we had to use once.
Dad thought it would be fun to put the room dividers in the tent this time but when it was time for bed Mom changed those plans. Staci had fallen asleep and the other two were bouncing off the walls literally. Their blow up mattress fit perfectly in their little room of the tent. They were bouncing on the wall and then onto their mattress. It was like WWF in there. They were having fun but Mom wanted to sleep tonight and they to get to sleep first.

Dad and Jeremiah had fun with the fire and were trying to burn anything they could get their hands on. We were waiting for Bill & Melene to show up. They had a dinner they had to be to and we had their cabin key. They arrived just after midnight so then we were able to go to sleep.

SATURDAY (4/25/09): The next morning it rained off and on. In between rain and meals, we did the maze, miniature golf and went on the glass bottom boat. Mom and Dad were not impressed with the ocean floor and wondered why anyone would want to scuba dive. Kaitlyn was ownry, Staci loved it and Xander fell asleep. All in all it was fun but only to do once. It was a little long, 45 minutes long that is.
Staci was bit by either mosquitoes, sand fleas or something else. There were a few mosquitoes in the tent. She woke up with about 20 bites on her face, all around her ankles, on both hands and across her back along her pant line. She was covered. We started the benedril and it made her very sleepy. By the time we got home she was swolen more.
In the evening we went to the PX. Dad bought Mom some new clothes since she can't fit into any of her pants right now. She is already bigger than with any of the other times. Whoops we forgot to mention... WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!! The baby is due in December.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
