Cabins at Okuma

April 17-18, 2009
Friday (4/17/09): We stayed at Okuma tonight. It rained all day so were were grateful that we had a cabin. Jeremiah made us dinner so we didn't have to bring much food at all, except for tomorrows dinner.
The kids couldn't wait to play in the cabin and eat smores. They ate marshmallow one after another.
We tried to put the kids to bed early but Xander stood at the door pounding on it and yelling, "JIICHAN!! JIICHAN!! JIICHAN!!" Everyone thought it hilarious and Jiichan came to the rescue.
We were getting ready for bed we were cleaning things up and Mom ran straight into one of the ropes that was holding up the tarp. Someone saw her walking straight towards it but didn't say anything. They thought it would be funny to see if she actually ran into it and sure enough she did. Whoops!
Staci and Dad were asleep the minute their heads hit their pillows but the rest of the family was another story. Kaitlyn & Xander were too hyper and didn't want to go to sleep. Mom laid with them for a little and then they finally fell asleep around 11:00. What a late night!

SATURDAY (4/18/09): After we had breakfast we cleaned up the cabins. The kids helped with the dishes and Dad climbed a tree to get a rope down. It was funny watching him try to untie it without falling. We just kept wondering, How many marines it takes to get down a rope? There was also a crow that kept trying to eat our food we were cleaning up. He kept stealing our cheese and coming back for more.
Then the kids got to ride in the go carts. This is one of their favorite things here at Okuma right now.
We headed over to Neo Park. They have mostly birds with a few other animals as well. This time we rode on the train instead of walking around the park. It was nice only the guy spoke only Japanese so who knows what he was saying. We just made up our own tour.
We stopped quickly before we left and got a Japanese picture taken. We also got some Japanese donuts. They were yummy and had chunks of pineapple in them.
For lunch we had CoCo's Curry and then headed home to pick up the puppies from the kennel. They were so excited to see us. We were going to get a babysitter tonight but we got home late and Dad decided not to go to the Priesthood session of conference. So he stayed home with the kids while Mom got a pedicure at Cocok's.
That night we met at Jeremiah & Eryn's house for games but ended up just visiting. The kids all fell asleep on the way home and Mom & Dad were ready for bed as well. It was a long day!

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
