So Cold


It was so cold outside. From inside it looked much warmer but there was a crazy cold wind that just wouldn't stop. Mom was shocked that the kids even wanted to play outside, but with their new swing set you can't keep them inside. We did have to run a few errands.
Mom picked up groceries while the kids were all at school and when she got home there was a hole in the milk. Mom has been having bad luck with milk cartons recently. A month or so ago she had an entire carton fall out of the car and spill all over the drive way.
Xander had his first t-ball practice today. It was so cold but that wasn't going to stop him. He was the happiest little boy in the world. He was a little confused at first but all of the kids were. We all froze on the sidelines but loved watching that smile on his face when it was his turn to bat. His first game is on Saturday this week.
Dad wants a new BBQ grill and so he is shopping around for a new one. We took the kids to 4 different places today making sure he picks the right one. We think we know which one we want but need to think about it so we get the right one this time. This will be BBQ #5 for us if you count the ones from Okinawa too.
By the time we got home the kids were so tired and went straight to bed.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use.
