This morning we all got ready and headed out the door to Lowe's. There was so many kids at the workshop that we had to wait awhile to get a hammer. But the kids were super happy to be making a Mater toy truck. This one was more complicated than any other one. Mom thought it was funny that as she looked around at everyone, there were more adults hammering away than kids. Brayden wa
s super good just hanging out in the cart watching. In the end the kids were more than happy with their new toys.
In the afternoon we took it easy and the kids enjoyed the nice weather outside while the adults relaxed and talked. Then while Dad was gone today for his marine pool function and the two little ones were sleeping Mom & Aunt Heather left with the other kids to go to see our summer movie, Despicable Me. Jeff was kind enough to stay home and sit with the two little ones sleeping.
When we arrived at the movie theater we found out that the movie schedule is different on Saturdays and only does the movie at 11:00. It was now almost 2:00. We had the saddest kids you have ever seen. Xander's entire body was sad & shruggling. So we had to think of something quick so we ran over to Outer Limits and took them miniature golfing. That seemed to work out great because they were so much happier. Golfing was fun and then they played a few games afterwards. Staci hit the jackpot and won over 100 tickets so the kids really
got to pick out something bigger for their prizes this time. Until they figure out what is really happening we put all the tickets together and share; this may only last a few more years before they get smart and say, "Wait a minute..."
We had a BBQ for dinner and then it was quite a chore getting six kids into the bath tub. We ran out of hot water for the first time. Some of us adult were going to take a shower tonight but now we all have to wait until tomorrow morning. We knew we had to get started tonight since their was ten of us to get cleaned up before church at 9:00 am. How do bigger families do it?
