Finally

Dad left early this morning to be in a golf tournament. He golfed last year with a guy in our old ward, Mike Haskell. He called Dad late last night in need of another player to his team. Dad was happy to be that guy and join in on the tournament.

If you have not heard of Bountiful Baskets you should seriously check it out. We got the entire order this week and are shocked with how much food we got. It felt like when we would go to the markets in Okinawa when we would only spend a few dollars and come home with a ton of stuff. We will definately keep ordering.

The kids finally got to see a parade this year. We missed so many others and Mom kept promising them they would get to go to one. So we made it this morning to the Pioneer Parade. We did arrive just before it was supposed to start. So in our hurrying attempt to get to a good spot Kaitlyn fell and scraped her knee open. We did find a place that was mostly in the shade. The kids loved all the candy they collected and didn't believe Mom that if they screamed more and clapped they would have more candy thrown at them. So they tried it and were happy with the result. We saw some fun floats and even got one otter pop thrown out to us to all share, although Brayden and Kaitlyn only ate it. The kids can't wait to go back again next year.

After the parade we ran over to Lowe's to pick up the kids project. It was well after the workshop was going on but they gave us the project to bring home to work on. Then we stopped at Walmart to get a few things for Mom and she surprised the kids with a fun water toy. It is mostly for younger kids & Staci was not too happy at the store but after coming home she said, "Mom, this is actually fun. I am surprised!" The kids played for awhile outside.

When Dad got home he was happy to announce that their team won the tournament. They had 11 under par and didn't use any mulligans. They each won a piggy coffee mug that changes from black to pink when you add hot liquid to the mug. It was kind of a cheap prize for a golf tournament but the kids got a kick out of the changing of colors.
We let Brayden finish his nap and then headed over to Lowe's to look at paint for the front room. We were there for a few hours and came home with quite a few projects to work on. We ended up getting closet doors the girls room, a kitchen countertop kit, paint for the front room & family room, and a door for the storage room. We were feeling a bit ambitious. Now we will see just how long it will take us to finish each project.

While Mom made dinner Dad worked on the girls closet doors. A lady at Lowe's told us how to save money. She said to buy two doors and then a closet runner and create the closet doors ourselves. Yes it was cheaper by over $100.00 but more work than Dad had anticipated. He made it look great and now the girls room is pretty much complete, minus a few touch ups. They were pretty excited and gave their Dad a big hug.  BEFORE and AFTER photos are below...

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
