Training for Dad

Dad left early this morning to go to a training meeting in Idaho Falls. Even though the meeting took a lot longer than expected and he almost had to stay the night, he said it was the best training he has had on recruting duty. He learned all about facebook and some other things about security & groups. He shared with Mom better ways to communicate. They have done studies and if Facebook was a country it would be the 3rd largest country. That is amazing!

Mom couldn't wait to get started on one of our new projects so she started in the kitchen. She cleaned off the counters and had them all ready for Dad, but since he didn't get home late we didn't quite start on it tonight. But the before pictures are here.

The day was so nice & the kids just played most of the day while Mom cleaned and did laundry. She has a new system with the laundry and is hoping it sticks. If she would just do a load every morning she will never have piles of it to do each week. The trick is staying on top of it and that is where life happens. Laundry is her least favorite thing to do.

For family home evening we talked about prayer and the kids each made a prayer train to remember the order and importance of the steps of praying. Then they painted their rocks they collected last week up in Idaho Falls. Brayden had so much fun and the kids got paint everywhere. Since we are redoing the cabinets Mom let the kids paint at the kitchen counter. That may have been a mistake, but the kids sure had a good time creating.

Dad is working on a new project and is doing so well we had to share. We can't really explain what it is for but this is just a tiny part of the artwork. When he is all finished we will share the entire project. His airbrushing skills are becoming really good. There just may be a future in this for him.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
