Surprise for the Missionaries!!

This morning we all slept in and had a nice relaxing morning. Then Dad and Mom went shopping for a few last minute things that needed to be exchanged and for dinner.

While Mom and Dad were out they had lunch at Subway while Staci made lunch for everyone at home. The kids watched Santa Claus is Coming to Town and played games.

It was time to get things ready for our favorite Christmas tradition. We fed the missionaries and they enjoyed our Christmas Eve Breakfast. This year we had eggnog baked french toast, Christmas eggs with crab meat, sausage, bacon, fruit and orange juice with a squirt of Grenadine. Dad took a little longer picking up the missionaries since they live in a gated community and left the french toast in the oven. By the time Mom realized it had been baking too long they were a little black on the edges. But they still tasted really good, just a little crusty.

After dinner we had a present for everyone, even the missionaries. They were surprised that we included them in our tradition. The kids & the missionaries got the favorite cereal. This year we got the kids at Sams Club so they got huge cases instead of boxes.

Dad took the missionaries home while Mom started on the sugar cookies for Santa. We used Great Grandma Fletcher's recipe but Mom left it on the counter too long so it stuck to the counter a lot. When Dad got home he tracked where Santa was and since we are on the east coast this year he was really close. He was already in Canada and headed down. So the kids said they were going to hurry and get to bed.

The kids each picked a goodie out of the kitchen for Santa and filled his bowl full of milk. Then we got our pajamas on and read Christmas Cobwebs so the kids could hang up their spiders on the tree. We haven't done it in two years since we didn't have a tree last year in the camper, so they had forgotten the story.

The kids went to bed while Mom and Dad watched TV. Then Mom finished baking the cookies & cleaned the kitchen up. After the boys finally fell asleep the girls came down to be Santa's little elves. They filled the stockings with goodies and candy and then went to bed. The kids wanted snow to come so Mom sprayed fake snow on all the windows for the kids in the morning.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
