Crazy Dentist Visit

Today Mom woke up in lots of pain and quickly called the dentist. They were able to fit her in and Dad was able to stay home with the kid before going to work.
Sad to say, the dentist didn't find anything wrong with Mom's teeth. They didn't see any cavities and assumed that her teeth were hurting because of sensitivity from the cleaning and the tooth they had fixed last week. Mom was so shocked because our last dentist wanted to do almost 1000.00 worth of work six months ago and Mom wasn't in any pain then and didn't have the money to do it either. She was sure that she had something wrong. That is so crazy!
This afternoon we went to Walmart and Xander picked out his birthday outfit and his birthday toy. He picked something so out of the ordinary for his toy and the girls picked out his present from the siblings. We hid it in Mom's coat and when we went to pay, Mom pulled the toy out without letting Xander see. One of the toys that they picked was an already loved toy from some other kid that must have left it there. It was a panda bear that was dirty and didn't have a tag. Kaitlyn saw it on the counter behind the Walmart employee and was sad that Mom wasn't buying it. She was very confused when Mom told her it wasn't really a toy from Walmart.
Mom then decided that the girls were going to take a break from gymnastics for a month. With Xander's birthday, our 10th Anniversary getaway and being gone a few weeks, she decided to have them just take the month off. We will start back in March. The girls were a little unhappy though because Xander is still doing his taekwondo. Mom had to explain that Xander has sat back and watched for months so they are okay to sit and just watch him for a month.
Then tonight Mom made zuchinni corn chowder which was yummy and started on Xander's birthday cake. She is making a pirate birthday cake. Her goal today was to get the waves finished. She cut them all out of fondant and then painted them and added sprinkles to give them some dimension. It took a little over an hour but she really enjoys this part of the birthday preparation & the kids love to watch.
We took a short break to have scriptures and prayer. Afterwards Xander gave Mom a big hug. Then he said, "Mom I love you so much." Then when she told him she loved him too and he smiled and asked, "why?" Then smiled and said, "Is it because I am the captain"....he is going to be the captain at his birthday party this week and gets a sword.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
