Pirates!

Today was a very busy day but in the end was Xander's birthday party. Mom finished making the birthday cake a half hour before the party started. We got all set up early because Mom had such a busy day.
Once the kids started arriving Xander was so excited. Dad was able to be at this party and this was a first for Dad at the kids birthday parties. Xander had 3 friends come, Brayden Olsen, Aaron Witt and Tati Bartschi. They were all dressed up too!
Each kid got an eye patch and a flame bandana for the heads. The party started with pizza for everyone to eat. Then they played pin the pirate chest on the map. The kids did pretty well with this. Then we had what the kids all call their favorite part, a balloon sword fight. Mom looked up online how to make balloon swords and made about 20 of them. The kids grabbed what they wanted and started wacking away. There was balloons everywhere and screaming kids to go along with it.
The each of Xander's friend brought him a gift and so he opened up all of his presents. They were all good sports getting photos for Mom. After the presents was time for the cake. They kids loved the cake and really thought it was awesome eating up all their own pirates. Most of them just played with them rather than eat them but that was okay.
It was now time for the pinata. Dad was in charge of this. All he could find for the kids to use was a metal pipe. So Mom had rules for this so no kids would get hurt. All the kids lined up against a wall while the other kids took a turn hitting. We had Staci go last and she still couldn't crack it open. So it was up to Dad. Mom had to get this on video. Well Dad hit it so hard that the candy went shooting against the wall and behind the couch. Then when the kids were grabbing their candy there was shattered candy on the ground. Xander had grabbed a sucker but the candy part was missing. That was the candy on the ground. Dad hit the pinata so hard that he shattered a few pieces of candy. Xander didn't even notice because the stick was still in the wrapper with a few holes in the top of the wrapper where the candy shot out. It was kind of crazy! The kids then played sword fighting until their parents came to pick them up. He did have a few friends that weren't able to come but they got him presents anyways, which was very nice of them.
After the party, Xander told Mom that it was the best party ever. He really had a good time. Then once we got a few things cleaned up we headed to The Home Depot and got the sheet rock to finish the girls room downstairs. YEAH!!!

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
