Mom Sick All Week

Mom has been sick all week. It all started on Tuesday night while Dad was away in Boise. She had a soar throat in the late evening and thought this was great to be getting sick. When she woke up on Wednesday she has no voice and felt horrible. The kids have been a great help. She has been in bed all week long. Dad and our friend Rachelle have been such a great help too.

On Thursday Mom said she had to go out and get some groceries because we had none. We met Dad at work and then he came to the store with us. Mom was moving slowly and hoping not to pass out. We dropped off Dad back at work and headed home. Mom unloaded all the bags of food into the house and then almost passed out. She called her friend. Rachelle rushed right over. The kids were starving and Mom needed to just rest. She stayed and even fixed dinner for the family before heading home. Thanks Rachelle!
On Friday Xander has his first testing in Taekwondo. He didn't quite know what to expect but he did great! He remembered his Korean and got some speed with his kicks although they were more worried about technique. He tried hard to brake the board with a palm strike but didn't quite brake the board. He only got 3 tries but he did earn his next belt anyways. Now he has a white belt with a yellow stripe. We are so happy with how well he did.

Saturday the kids did their chores and Mom was actually up and moving today even though she wasn't quite feeling all the way better yet. She took lots of breaks and rested in between helping the kids.

We took the kids sledding at Barts Field by the college after lunch time and had quite the experience. Mom sat in the car with Brayden and watched. They first part they started on the smaller hills and went down quite a few times. They even made it over the second hump at the bottom of the hill a few times when Dad pushed them. Staci would jump as she went and went over by herself. Kaitlyn would make it just to the top of the hill and then stop but Xander would go flying right over. Mom was happy watching but sad she couldn't be out there with them.
Then she saw them all head over to the jumps and bigger part of the hill. Was this the kids idea or Dad's. Staci did say on the way there that she wanted to go down the jumps. So as Mom was watching she took a few videos and then played with Brayden. She stopped a little too soon because this is what happened when she wasn't looking. Staci went down the jump and hit it good. She left her saucer sled and flew 6 feet in the air with arms & legs kicking and flying. She landed funny and hurt her knees a little but got right up and waived to Dad and said, "I'm okay Dad." Kaitlyn was on her way back up the hill with her sled when a kid came hauling down the hill and ran right into her. Her sled when flying in one direction and she went in the other. Dad was at the bottom getting Xander so some other Dad helped her up and took her to Dad. Xander had gone down and then was just chilling on his sled waiting for Dad to come down and help him walk back up the big hill. Then Dad & Xander went down together but they started spinning. As they turned around backwards Dad's jacket went under the sled and stopped them. They flipped backwards and went the rest of the way on Dad's back. Luckily Dad held onto Xander so he didn't go flying off on his own.
When Mom asked the kids how it went the girls were in shock and had these looks on their faces like what just happened to us and Xander was ready to go on the jump himself. But with his little body he probably would have gone flying 10 feet in the air so Dad wouldn't let him.
Later Dad told Staci that was the coolest thing he has ever seen her do and asked to admit it a little that it was kind of fun. She had a tiny smirk on her face but still said it was scary.
In the evening we had our friends Rachelle, Tati & Tajia over for a dinner & a movie. We made chicken kabobs with a caribean jerk marinade and added onions, peppers, mango & pineapple. It was amazing! Then we watched How to Train a Dragon & ate popcorn.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
