This morning we all woke up after the girls were supposed to be walking out the door. Brayden was yelling out for Mom and when Mom woke up she realized we all slept in. The alarm had been forgotten about last night. Whoops!
Xander had a field trip to EP Athletics after lunch today. They took Brayden as well until Mom finished with the carpool and then spent a little bit there with Kaitlyn at the gym. The kids had a good time and it really made Mom realize just how much the girls miss it there. Kaitlyn wanted to do everything she usually did in class and it all came right back to her. But we are on a brake from sports until spring time.
Kaitlyn got to help with her cake today. She helped make some fish & seashells. It was a very simple cake but she sure did love it. We baked cupcakes and shaped them into a heart. Then spread the frosting over all of them together and added the mermaid & other sea creatures. The mermaid was the only thing that was a toy.
Xander got to have Sawyer over for the afternoon before we left for the party. The played really well together and didn't want to stop when it was time for him to go back to the gym with his parents.
We had Kaitlyn's birthday party at Deleta Skating. Kaitlyn had 7 friends come and none of them really knew how to skate. Two of the Mom's stayed so Mom wasn't by herself. Even though there was tears half of the time & lots of falling down, they still seemed to keep smiling and enjoyed themselves. They skated for about an hour and then we ate pizza, had cupcakes & opened presents. They had a little time to keep skating afterwards before all the parents came to pick up her friends. Kaitlyn didn't want to leave but was smiling in the end so it ended up being a great party.
Xander didn't get a goody bag, which was a party blower & a bag to make their own playdough. Mom only had enough for Kaitlyn's friends and told that to Staci & Xander beforehand. But they were still sad they didn't get one and it just wasn't fair in their eyes. Then Staci was mad that because it was the worst party ever. She didn't get to have money to play the games & Kaitlyn's friends didn't pay attention to Staci. She told Mom in the car on the way home that it was all about Kaitlyn, Kaitlyn, Kaitlyn. Hello! Who's party was it? So we came home and pretty much everyone went to bed because Mom couldn't handle it anymore with all the complaining.
Dad had to drive all day today from Preston to Pocatello and then onto Boise. But he didn't leave later for Boise so he could be there for the beginning of Kaitlyn's party. She was happy about that because she was worried he wouldn't be able to come at all. He had some minor hickups with some social security problems but got them taken care of and still had to go anyways. He had been driving most of the day and was tired by the time he arrived in Boise.
Mom tried to relax once the kids were asleep but Brayden woke up a few hours later and just wanted to be held by Mom. So Mom is going to let he kids sleep in a little tomorrow and take the girls to school.
