One More Month

The kids are so ready to go back to school already and so am I. They only have one month left. Hopefully we will have a fun last month of the summer and enjoy ourselves. We just have one more vacation planned for the Fletcher Reunion & seeing Bachan & Jichan in Wyoming. The kids are not looking forward to the traveling part but are happy to see all the family. I have a few things surprised for them for the traveling.

Early this morning Paul left for work and I was up all night with Cooper and went back to sleep. He woke up at 1:30 in the middle of the night barking. When I went into the garage to check on him I realized after the nasty smell in their that he had thrown up in him kennel. So I put him outside and at the top of the stairs (inside the house) he shook off. There was little brown droppings all over me & the walls. YUCK! So I changed and got what cleaned up that I could see, knowing I would find more when I woke up, and went back to sleep.

The boys were up at 6:00 so I turned on the cartoons & went back to sleep. Right at 7:30 we had a knock at the door. Mom had remembered yesterday morning that she was helping out a friend and watching her girls but forgot last minute. Tati & Tajah were with us all day while their parents had to go to Boise.

The kids actually played well most of the day. We did have a few rough moments but who wouldn't with six kids. After lunch the Brayden & Tajah went down for naps while the older kids cleaned up downstairs for their surprise. It
Brayden and his friend Tajah...
was play dough and they couldn't have been more happy. Although they did get play dough in more places than I would have liked to have seen they were pretty good about cleaning it up.

I invited Kris & Rachelle over for dinner since they were traveling all day so they didn't have to worry about fixing something last minute. They brought cookies and we had BBQ chicken, asparagus, salad & potatoes for dinner.

After dinner Paul arrived so he ate and then Kris helped him start the install on the sink. I sat and chatted with Rachelle while the kids played outside. While they were working on the sink the two little ones climbed inside and Brayden kept saying boat. I had to take a picture. It was too cute!!!

We had our cookies & then Amy Labrum and her daughter Jordan came over to help pass out our some flyers. We are putting together a block party and thought for family night we would pass then out to all the neighbors. Paul stayed home and finished working on the sink while I took the kids all on our walk.

When we got home they got into the bath, got pajamas on and were in bed later than usual by an hour and a half. They pretty much all fell right asleep.

Paul didn't buy everything he needed to to finish the sink and I didn't do any dishes today thinking I would have a sink by the end of the day & a running dishwasher. So tomorrow it is a trip back to Lowe's to pick up stuff. It looks great though and it is so big, if you can't tell already with the two kids sitting it from the picture. I can't wait to clean the dishes tomorrow.

We watched the Next Food Network star and then went to sleep afterwards. Cooper wasn't happy since it rained most of the day but we left him outside just in case he got sick again.

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
