School Shopping

We left bright & early this morning, well around 10:00. It seemed early though after breakfast & morning chores. We were going school shopping and it ended up being a lot longer day than I had anticipated.

We started off at The Dollar Tree. I need school supplies and got what I knew would be cheaper there than at Walmart. The kids were wanting everything other than school supplies.

So at the next store I threatened them that they be good and not wine for things we don't need for school. If they wined I would not get their new school clothes until after school started. I may have sounded like the mean Mom but I was so frustrated by the way they acted in the previous store.

We got the rest of the school supplies while we were there and they had a ton of clothes on clearance, so we just got a few there and some shoes. Staci chose to get boots this year instead of tennis shoes. The rule in our house you have to wear tennis shoes to school everyday until you are in the 4th grade. Then you can choose what you want to wear, except for flip flops. But if these new boots get scuffs in them she will be having them taken away. There are rules to not wearing tennis shoes. You act according to the shoes you are wearing.

The kids were so hungry by the time we finished her that I decided to not go to Walmart but knew I needed wipes, we only had 2 wipes left in the entire house. So while we were at Costco we picked up hotdogs and were doing to call Paul to have lunch with him. But as we were loading up the car he called to say he was hungry. Good timing since we were on our way there.

After we ate hotdogs and churros he decided to come with us. So we went to Walmart for just a few things and then stopped at Downeast for some Men jeans for him. They were having a huge sale. Buy one get one for half off. These are $200 jeans for only $50.00 and they are good looking. They fit him great and look so nice!

After we got home we realized why they were on clearance. They are name brand jeans but are the misfits so I need to do a little touch ups in them myself.

We got home around 4:30 and I was exhausted. We ate dinner and for family night we watched football instead of having a lesson. But for scripture study we learned the 9th article of faith. Staci only has 4 more left and she will have all 13 memorized. With Kaitlyn & Xander only 9 more themselves. They are doing great! Way to go kids!!!

Learning to Hula

Today was a big day for Kaitlyn. We registered her for Kindergarten. It didn't quite go as planned for Mom though. We all got up early with Staci and took her to school. Then we got in line for the registration. Mom was feeling pretty good because we were like 12th one there. But as we waited for 45 minutes and got up to the front of the line they wouldn't put Kaitlyn's name on the list because we didn't have prove of our address. Mom wasn't aware that we needed it since we already have one child at the school and they should have this on file. They said they could give her the paperwork but that she couldn't be added to the list until they can verify where we live. Mom had to go home. She was furious and hoped that we could still get Kaitlyn into this school. Here in Pocatello they have open enrollment so you can take your kids where ever you want. This doesn't make any sense why it matters where you live then anyways but Mom hurried as quickly as she could...

Helpers in the Kitchen

Each night a different one of my children helps me make dinner. I have done this for awhile but have finally figured out the way to make it easier on myself. i get everything prepared ahead of time in little bowls just like they do on the Food Network. This way the kids just mix the ingredients in an easy way without having to measure stuff and the clean up is so much easier. I just tell them how much everything is as we are putting it together. Well tonight I made something super easy but it has the restaurant style look to it from a Pillsbury Cookbook (one of those small ones that are always by the register that my husband and I have a ton of because we pick them up all the time when we are out and about). I think my husband will be shocked, at least I hope he is... Monster Trucks

This morning the kids all slept in but we had to get them going since today was going to be a busy day. We made pancakes & eggs for breakfast. After we ate it was time for Staci to say good bye to Cami & take her home. They had a fun sleepover although Staci has been one onwry girl every since. So it will be a few weeks before she can have another sleep over, that is for sure. We left to go and get Dad's new toy, a new BBQ grill. We got it at Costco for a little more money than Mom had originally thought when Dad started searching a few months ago. But this grill has everything; an oven, ice box, a searing station, griddle and more. It is everything Dad wants in a BBQ. But now Dad can do all the big cooking outside and not use up the kitchen for the big dinners that he puts on for people. Dad is a great cook and Mom's know this will get plenty of use. Well we got home and then had to get Xander changed to be ready for his big game. It was his first t-ball game today and...
